Professor of Biblical Theology and Exegesis

I was blessed by being born and raised in a godly Christian home and accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior as a young child. While in college I met and married my wife who has been my best friend and biggest support throughout the joys and struggles of life. We are blessed with three children; Nathan, Jessica, and Rebekah.
From my teens I have been very interested in studying Scripture and teaching what I learned. For many years this teaching ministry was conducted in para-church contexts, especially in Bible conferences and home Bible studies. However, eventually the Lord led me to seminary for the purpose of increasing the depth and breadth of my understanding of the Bible. My main goals in attending seminary were to be able to study Scripture in its original languages and to learn more about the Old Testament for the purpose of increasing my understanding of the New Testament. Although both goals have been reached, the latter has resulted in a far greater appreciation of Scripture as a whole than I had ever envisioned.
I am thrilled to be able to teach at Central Baptist Theological Seminary and to share what I have learned and continue to learn about the Bible and life. Since my passion is to understand the message of Scripture and its various units and subunits, rather than simply biblical facts, it is a special privilege to teach those whose hearts are to proclaim the message of Jesus Christ around the world.
