SELAH MOMENT
Is your God too small? J. B. Philips asked this question in 1953 with the publication of his book, Your God is Too Small.
Fifty-five years later the question is still relevant.
So let me ask you, is your God too small?
Is your God to too small to face the real winds of life?
Is your God too small to answer the questions of science, to interact with culture, and to provide a lasting inner satisfaction?
The God of the Bible is not too small!
He is a great God, clothed with splendor and majesty (Psalm 104:1).
Because He is eternal, nothing surprises Him, not even the questions of science.
Because He is almighty, nothing will defeat Him, not even the most sophisticated arguments of prominent men in our day.
Because He is holy, nothing disqualifies Him, not even the concerns about his wrath.
Because He is sovereign, nothing is left unaccounted, not even the passing of an aborted child.
Because my God is so big, so real, so genuine, I will in the words of Psalm 31,
31:1 . . . take refuge in him during my seasons of challenge and blessing
31:5 I will commit my spirit into His loving hands of tender care
31:6 I will hate those who cling to worthless idols of our day
31:6, 14 I will trust in the Lord when it is hard
31:14 I will confess that you are my God in public and private
31:7, 23 I will love the Lord and rejoice in the love of God for me
31:24 I will be strong and courageous to a committed follower of Christ
31:24 I will hope in the Lord who loving rules my times
Because I am in Christ alone I am satisfied in my great and glorious God.
